Why should I become a KEMCAANA member?
We understand that before joining any
organization, you may ask yourself: Why should I do this? Please
consider the reasons below:
KEMCAANA is your Alumnus. Its main
objectives are to help KE Alumni and help our Alma Mater. Your valuable
membership dues have enabled the following programs and Initiatives:
1. Document Verification Service:
This is a
seamless process available for KE grads living in the USA and Canada.

2. Advocating for Visa
Processing of KE graduates intending to come to USA.
3. Career Resourcing and
Post-Graduate Education Program: Financial
assistance to qualifying recent MBBS graduates prior to starting
Residency in the USA or Canada for travel, room and board.
4. Scholarship Program:
Presently KEMCAANA is providing Scholarship to 28 KE students
at Rs.1500/month.We plan to raise it to 30 students at Rs.2, 000 per
month.
5. KEMCAANA Computer lab for
students and Faculty of KEMU: With a running cost of
$1500/month and two full time employees we are providing 53 terminals
6. KEMCAAANA Internet facility to 13
sites across KEMU and Mayo Hospital:
In addition to the
Computer lab, we are providing wireless and broadband
internet service across King Edward campus, medical, surgical wards,
girls and boys hostels.
7. Career Counseling for Young Graduates: MBBS
and Then What… An International Symposium held at KE
Dec.2006. Video recording to be uploaded soon on our website
8. Facilitating Electives rotations
for KE Students: Setting up an office at KEMU for
selection, screening and coordination of rotations for KE students in
USA
9. Visiting Faculty Program:
Teaching rotation opportunities in KEMU for Kemcolians in USA
and Canada have been organized on a formal basis.
10. Anatomy Learning Center:
Donated and maintained by Class of 1980, a state-of-the-art
facility for the students of KEMU and Post Graduate medical Institute
11. Charitable activities: Past
Record: KEMCAANA is a 501-c-3 organization. Donations
for all charitable activities are tax deductible.
KEMCAANA donated $120,000 for establishing schools and educating the
orphans after the earthquake. $16,000 donated towards tents for
earthquake

If I join KEMCAANA, where can I help?
Your dues and contributions can help any of
the above ongoing programs plus many more we would like to work on more
diligently including:
1)
Scholarship program….in
Pakistan and USA: Fund the
travel, tuition and accommodation for qualifying physicians as they come
to the USA for graduate training. Establish a Zero Interest loan program
for this purpose.
2)
Create an Emergency fund
for Disaster relief management:
For trauma and surgical supplies; medicine
3)
Burn Unit upgrade:
Helping thousands of victims of burn
injuries from cylinders and CNG units in their cars.
4)
Cardiac Surgery supplies at Mayo
5)
Telemedicine Program:
Establish a program for Live
teaching and lecture series with KEMU students.
6)
Women Mentorship Program:
Mentorship program for our female alumni.
